We are looking for a dedicated and experienced CAT Tool Specialist to support our translation team and enhance the efficiency of our translation processes. As a CAT Tool Specialist, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our computer-assisted translation systems (CAT tools). You will work closely with translators, project managers, and IT departments to ensure all translation projects run smoothly and efficiently.
Your primary responsibilities include managing translation memories, terminology databases, and ensuring the quality and consistency of all translations. You will analyze existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement new solutions to increase productivity and translation quality. Additionally, you will provide training and technical support to internal and external translators, ensuring all team members can effectively utilize the CAT tools.
You will be responsible for regularly updating and maintaining the software, including conducting tests and troubleshooting issues. You will monitor system performance and generate reports on the usage and efficiency of the tools in use. Your role requires close collaboration with software vendors to ensure all systems are up-to-date and functioning optimally.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of at least one major CAT tool such as SDL Trados Studio, memoQ, Across, or Wordfast. You should possess excellent technical skills and be capable of quickly and effectively resolving complex technical issues. Experience in project management and working with international teams is advantageous.
You should have strong communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders and clearly convey technical information. A high level of initiative, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are crucial for success in this position.
